Description: | The SIRT6 is included in class IV of the sirtuin family, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, in yeast sirtuins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing. Also SIRT6, a chromatin-associated protein, appears to be involved in DNA repair. Recombinant SIRT6, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by conventional chromatography techniques. |
