Description: | HPR, also known as Haptoglobin-related protein, is a primate-specific plasma protein associated with apolipoprotein L-I (apoL-I) -containing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles shown to be a part of the innate immune defense. HPR-bound hemoglobin might contribute to the biologic activity of the circulating apoL-I/Hpr-containing HDL particles. Recombinant human HPR protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
