Description: | Carboxymethylenebutenolidase homolog, also known as CMBL, is a cysteine hydrolase of the dienelactone hydrolase family that is highly expressed in liver cytosol. CMBL is the human homolog of Pseudomonas dienelactone hydrolase, a protein that participates in the bacterial halocatechol degradation pathway. CMBL is inhibited by p-chloromercuribenzoate (PCMB) and is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 5p15. 2. Recombinant human CMBL protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
