Description: | Alcohol dehydrogenase 1C, also known as ADH1C, belongs to the zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this enzyme family metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. ADH1 is a monomorphic and predominant in fetal and infant livers, becoming less active in gestation and only weakly active during adulthood. Recombinant human ADH1C protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
