Description: | MAF1 that is similar to Maf1, a Saccharomyces cerevisiae protein is a protein highly conserved in eukaryotic cells and is localized to the nucleus. Interactng with BRF2, MAF1 functions to mediate signals that specifically repress the activity of RNA polymerase III (Pol III), specifically by inhibiting the assembly of TFIIIB onto DNA. It responds to changes in the cellular environment and represses pol III transcription. Recombinant human MAF1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. |
