Description: | VEGF-A, also known as vascular endothelial growth factor, belong to the VEGF family that mediate angiogenesis. This protein is produced by diverse cell types, including aortic vascular smooth muscle cells, keratinocytes, macrophages and many tumor cells. VEGF-A has important roles in mammalian vascular development and in diseases involving abnormal growth of blood vessels such as tumor-related angiogenesis. Recombinant VEGF-A protein was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
