Description: | KIR/CD158, also known as killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 2DL5A, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the killer cell Ig-like receptor (KIR) family. It is detected on the cell surface as a monomer that, upon tyrosine phosphorylation, recruits the Srchomology region 2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase-2, It is thus an inhibitory receptor gathering a combination of genetic, structural, and functional features unique among KIR, which suggests that it plays a specialized role in innate immunity. |
Further Information: | The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis and FACS to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. |
