Description: | Calnexin, also known as IP90, p88 and p90, is a member of the calnexin family of molecular chaperones. This protein is a calcium-binding, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) -associated protein that interacts transiently with newly synthesized N-linked glycoproteins, facilitating protein folding and assembly. It may also play a central role in the quality control of protein folding by retaining incorrectly folded protein subunits within the ER for degradation. |
Further Information: | The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis, Flow cytometry and ICC/IF to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. |
