STOM [AT33F5], Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

Partner: NKMax Bio (ATGen)

Applications:ELISA, WB, ICC/IF
Species Reactivity:Human
Isotype:Mouse IgG2b kappa
Immunogen:Recombinant human STOM (55-288aa) purified from E. coli
Purification:By protein-A affinity chromatography
Conjugation:Unconjugated
Description:STOM (stomatin) is a member of a highly conserved family of integral membrane proteins. This protein localizes to the cell membrane of red blood cells and other cell types, where it may regulate ion channels and transporters. Loss of localization of STOM is associated with hereditary stomatocytosis, a form of hemolytic anemia. Although the wide distribution of stomatin and its constitutive expression suggest an important role for this protein in cell biology, perhaps as a house-keeping component, its function remains undetermined. The massive presence of stomatin in membrane-protruding folds and extensions suggests a possible structural role for this protein in the formation of these structures and/or the anchorage to the actin cytoskeleton.
Further Information:The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1000.
Synonym:Erythrocyte band 7 integral membrane protein isoform a, BND7, EPB7, EPB72
Ascension Number:P27105
NCBI EntrezGene:NP_004090
Shipping Conditions:Ship on cold packs
Storage:Can be stored at +2C to +8C for 1 week. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
Usage:Research use only
