Description: | Gamma-glutamyltransferase-1 (GGT1; MIM 612346) is amembrane-bound extracellular enzyme that cleaves gamma-glutamylpeptide bonds in glutathione and other peptides and transfers thegamma-glutamyl moiety to acceptors. Autocatalytic cleavage of theGGT1 precursor polypeptide produces a heavy chain and a light chainthat associate with each other to form the functional enzyme. Lightchain-only GGTs, such as GGTLC2, contain a region corresponding tothe GGT1 light chain, but they lack the membrane-anchoring heavychain region (Heisterkamp et al., 2008 [PubMed 18357469]).[suppliedby OMIM]. |
Further Information: | This GGTLC2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 127-154 amino acids from the Central region of human GGTLC2. |
