Description: | GLYATL2 belongs to the glycine N-acyltransferase family. This protein is expressed at highest levels in salivary gland and trachea. It is a mitochondrial acyltransferase which transfers the acyl group to the N-terminus of glycine. GLYATL2 conjugates numerous substrates, such as arachidonoyl-CoA and saturated medium and long-chain acyl-CoAs ranging from chain-length C8:0-CoA to C18:0-CoA, to form a variety of N-acylglycines. Recombinant human GLYATL2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
